Final Performance Evaluation

Overall I found that my performaces were good. I found that the last four performances were my better ones. My confidence had reached a peak at this stage, where as in the earlier I was much less confident.

Oom Pah Pah- I found this my better dance out of the two, because I enjoyed this dance more as it was easy to have fun with.

Strengths
  • I found me and my partner which was the character of Nancy worked well of each other, and had shared the same thoughts, meaning if one person added a bit in, the other was comfortable in recreating. IE a simple gesture, like a blown kiss, etc
  • I feel that my timing was good throughout the piece

Consider Yourself-

Mid Point Evaluation

At the mid point we performed the dances to our peers,

My personal evaluation;
I felt the dance went well, I remembered all the moves, and was in time with the music. I found though that I was concentrating more on the moves than focus and projection.

My peer evaluation;
They felt that my timing was good, and also found the acting sections of the dance were performed well, with my characters being portrayed well. But they said when the dance started my dynamics were all wrong. I was too elegant, and perfect, where as I should have been more quirky and spontaneous, rather than look rehearsed.

Character Profile: Oom Pah Pah

Oom Pah Pah is set in a run down pub, all the characters are having fun, but are all stereotypical poor cockneys.
To develop my character I used varying different techniques, my first technique was;

Doing this opened my eyes to a pattern in most character in Oliver. They are stereotypes. I have decided to play my characters a very flirtatious, merry character. A typical lad.

The Play was Announced

Our performance this year was 'Oliver'. We planned to perform 8 shows throughout a 6 day time span. With a break on the Sunday. I had a speaking part, of Mr Brownlow. But I am also a dancer in the piece. Which I dance in two different dances which are 'Consider Yourself' and 'Oom Pah Pah'.
